Central Luzon LGUs, Among the Most Competitive in the Philippines
The National Competitiveness Council (NCC) officially announced the results of the 2015 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) last July 16 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.
The CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities in the three pillars of Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, and Infrastructure. Developed by the NCC and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and implemented through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs), the CMCI is based on the data pertaining to competitiveness indicators gathered and validated in the local government units (LGUs).
This year, NCC recognized again cities and municipalities that placed in the top 3 - overall and under each of the three pillars. Furthermore, rankings were classified based on city type (highly urbanized, component) and municipality income (1st - 2nd class, 3rd - 6th class).
