C.R.I. Pumps to Invest in Bulacan
C.R.I. Pumps General Manager Kalyan Ram, an investor from India, disclosed, after signing the lease agreement between their company and the Polyland Industrial Estate, that they finally decided and chose the City of Meycauayan in Bulacan as their next overseas company branch.
“Philippines will be our ninth overseas subsidiary. Others are located in Brazil, China, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States of America and Bangladesh,” said Vidyasagar, CRI Manager for Marketing Services.
The company will infuse around P35 million to P50 million in investments and is set to start its operation by June 2017. They will set up a distribution branch in the Philippines and a manufacturing plant once the demand for pumps increases.
CRI’s main manufacturing plant is located in a 30-hectare property in Coimbatore, India. The plant produces pumps, motors, pipes, wires & cables for different applications like residential and general water supply, irrigation, building services, pressure boosting, waste water treatment, mining and de-watering, oil and gas, and renewable energy.
“We visited several sites in Laguna, Batangas and Cavite but we chose Bulacan due to less traffic congestion and its proximity to Manila North Harbor where our products will be shipped,” said Kalyan and Vidyasagar after they were toured inside the 2 newly-established industrial estates in Marilao and Meycauayan City.
“Our company began in 1961 with the manufacture of irrigation equipment at an in-house foundry with very limited facilities,” said Vidyasagar.
CRI, which stands for Commitment, Reliability and Innovation, became one of the leading names in the manufacture of pumping systems globally. Their products are present in more than 120 countries with a solid production capacity of over 2 million pumps per annum and have been rated as among the best brands worldwide.
C.R.I.’s global research centre, Fludyn Advanced Technology Centre, has more than 100 engineers working with the latest design tools, software and state-of-the-art prototyping and testing facilities.
The company is now in the process of business registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission and will be assisted in securing permits and service utilities until it operates.
