Bulacan Packaging Center Now FDA-LTO Certified

Aiming to meet the highest principles of excellence and competence in establishing quality and world-class Bulacan products that are in accordance to both local and global standards, the Bulacan Packaging Service and Toll Packing Center (BPSTPC) better known as Bulacan Packaging Center, obtained its License-to-Operate (LTO) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA-LTO accreditation was finally issued to the center on November 24, 2015 after two (2) years of preparation.

“We are commending the efforts of the [Department of Trade and Industry] under the leadership of DTI-3 Director Judith P. Angeles and Provincial Director Zorina Aldana for providing us the equipment which consists of an automatic granular packaging machine and a die cutting machine worth Php 977,840.00 which helped upgrade the facility. These machines will be of great use for the benefit of our micro and small and enterprises (MSMEs) in the province,” said Cynthia P. Abiol, Department Head of the Provincial Cooperative and Economic Development Office (PCEDO) and BPSTPC.

“The center can now accept toll packing of food products with Certificate of Product Registration that is being required by FDA for food producers and manufacturers before they release the products in the market. Beelove, Inc., a subsidiary company of Great Image will be the first company to benefit with our accreditation,” Abiol added.

The Bulacan Packaging Center was launched in January 2016 as technology incubator for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It became the first government-run packaging center in the country. MSMEs within or outside the province can avail of its services like label and packaging designs, label printing, toll packing, product development and consultancy services at minimal fee.

“Small manufacturers especially the food producers can make use of our semi-automatic stand-up-pouches (SUP) filler, automatic in-line filler, shrink machine, continuous band sealer, vacuum packing machine, retort machine, automatic granular packaging machine and die cutting machine for better packaging and labeling, prolong shelf life and improve marketability,” said Jake Magpayo, officer-in-charge of the center.
