ALO-NE Benchmarks BPLS of Palawan
The Association of Licensing Officers-Nueva Ecija (ALO-NE) conducted a Local Study Mission in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on April 21-22, 2016, as part of its continuous efforts to strengthen the capabilities of Business Permits and Licensing Officers (BPLOs) in the provision of quality and effective frontline service to its clients.
ALO-NE is Nueva Ecija’s provincial BPLO association and is an active partner of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the implementation of the Nationwide Streamlining of Business Permits and Licensing Systems (BPLS) program and other advocacies to improve the business and investment-enabling environment in the province.
The group was warmly welcomed to Puerto Princesa by City Administrator Elena V. Rodriguez. The BPLOs were able to observe the actual operations of the BPLS implementation in the LGU. An interaction on how to handle applications for permits and the issuance of business licenses as well as knowledge sharing were conducted. The delegates were also briefed on the innovations made by Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron for the Senior Citizens and youths.
By the end of the benchmarking mission, ALO-NE members were inspired with the good office practices of the LGU of Puerto Princesa on BPLS implementation and hope to replicate innovations in their respective LGUs.
