DTI Launches PBR in General Natividad, Nueva Ecija

In a program held on June 7, 2016, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched the Philippine Business Registry (PBR) in General Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija. The PBR is the integration of registration processes of five government line agencies into a single application system, which cuts down the processing time from two weeks to 30 minutes. It also serves as the first step to secure business permits from the BPLO.

Nueva Ecija Provincial Director (PD) Brigida T. Pili gave an overview of the PBR System as well as the roles and responsibilities of the LGU in PBR implementation. This was followed by the MOA signing between the DTI and the LGU of General Natividad, represented by their Local Chief Executive, Areli Grace H. Santos.

Each of the five government line agencies, namely, DTI, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) and Social Security System (SSS) also expressed their support in the PBR implementation in the LGU.

Under the agreement, the LGU shall provide personnel who will man and process the papers referred to the PBR whose office shall be located within the municipal hall. DTI, for its part, shall provide the needed trainings of the local government staff and make the acquisition of the business name easier.

Officials present during the MOA signing were PD Brigida T. Pili of DTI, Engr. Florentino D. Yumul and Ms. Dorina Y. Mangunay of HDMF, Assistant RDO Catheleya C. Aquino of BIR, Ms. Wilma T. Gaya of SSS, and Ms. Virginia T. Macapagal of Philhealth.
